The Madinah mushaf, page for page.

The text is the Tanzil Uthmani text, checked against the mushaf's own page and glyph data from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, word by word, before the app is built. Nothing on the page is typed by hand: the words come from the layout, the surah headings from the metadata, the basmala from the text itself. If you ever see something that looks wrong, please email the surah and ayah number; it will be checked against the printed mushaf.

The 1421 H Madinah print (King Fahd Complex), 604 pages, 15 lines a page, Hafs ʿan ʿĀṣim. Page numbers, juz and hizb markers match that print.

The Quran text and the mushaf pages are inside the app and never need a connection. Translations, word meanings and recitations are downloaded when you choose them, and then work offline. Recitation streams by default; tap the speed chip in the player, then Download, to keep a surah on the device.

Translations, word meanings and recitations come from the Quran Foundation, whose terms allow their content to be kept on a device for up to seven days. The app refreshes each downloaded file within that week. If a file could not be refreshed in time (for example, the phone was offline for more than a week), it is removed and downloaded again the next time you are online. Your place, your marks and your settings are never affected.

Tap Aa in the reader. Arabic size and translation size each have a slider with a live preview. In the Mushaf view, 100% is the page as printed; larger sizes wrap long lines and the page scrolls. You can also pinch to zoom the page.

The app remembers where you stopped on its own; the Continue reading card on the home screen takes you back. To mark an ayah, tap it and choose one of four colours; marked ayat are washed in that colour on the page and listed under Marks. Continue from here on the same sheet sets your place by hand.

Word timings are published by the Quran Foundation for each reciter and are checked against the page layout before they are used, but a few reciters' timings are looser than others. If the highlight is consistently off for one reciter, email the reciter and surah so it can be checked. On Bluetooth speakers and headphones the app already allows for the audio delay.

Settings → Restore default settings, at the bottom. Reading view, text sizes, translations, reciter and appearance go back to how the app came. Your place, marks and downloads are kept.
