Support · Tiny Critic for iOS

Your baby's one-star food reviews.

Log what your baby ate, tap a rating and a reaction, and Tiny Critic writes a deadpan restaurant review in their voice, on a card made for the family group chat. Underneath the joke is a private food diary: the First 100 board, a calendar, every visit to every food, and allergen-group records. No account, no subscription, nothing leaves your phone.

FAQ

Frequently asked

The questions that come up most, answered plainly.

Who writes the reviews?

A bank of about three hundred hand-written lines inside the app, chosen by the rating and reactions you tap and rotated so the same line never lands twice in a row. There is no AI, no server, and nothing about your baby leaves the phone. If a verdict misses, tap Rewrite for another take (five per review).

Is this feeding or medical advice?

No. Tiny Critic is a memory keeper, not medical advice. It never suggests what or when to feed a baby. Talk to your pediatrician about when and how to introduce foods and allergens.

What are the allergen labels and records?

Some foods in the collection carry one of nine common allergen-group labels (milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, sesame). The Calendar tab shows, per group, how many times a labeled food was logged and when it was last logged, and a dot marks those days. It is a record of what you logged, nothing more. Labels are not a complete ingredient list, and custom foods carry only the labels you add.

What does Tiny Critic Unlimited include? Is it a subscription?

Not a subscription. Your first 15 reviews are free. Tiny Critic Unlimited is a single one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited reviews and all three card styles, and it is shared with your Family Sharing group. Everything already logged stays viewable, editable, and shareable whether or not you buy it. The tip jar is separate and entirely optional; tips unlock nothing.

How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?

Sign in to the Apple Account you bought it with, then open Tiny Critic → Settings → Tiny Critic Unlimited → Restore purchases. The same button is on the unlock screen.

Can I keep diaries for two children?

Yes. Settings → Add another critic. Each critic keeps their own board, badges, calendar, and reviews, and you switch by tapping the name on the Board or in Settings. Removing a critic removes only that critic's reviews.

How do I move my diary to a new phone?

Settings → Export your food diary makes one .zip with every profile, custom food, review, and photo. Save it to Files or iCloud Drive, or AirDrop it. On the new phone, Settings → Import a diary export and pick that file. Importing never duplicates reviews you already have, so it is safe to run twice. Your device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) also includes the app's data.

Where do photos go?

Photos you attach are copied into the app's own storage on your phone; the app never stores a link to your photo library and never reads it in the background. The system photo picker needs no permission. The camera asks for permission only when you tap Take photo, and Save to Photos asks for add-only access the first time you use it.

Does Tiny Critic collect any data?

No. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server of ours. Purchases are handled by Apple. The only things that leave your phone are the cards and exports you choose to share.
